ABOUT THE AUTHOR
E. V. Ashworth
E. V. Ashworth grew up in a damp Yorkshire vicarage with too many books and too few brothers. She read Classics at Oxford, taught Latin to disinterested boys for seven winters, and began writing fiction during a particularly bleak February she does not care to discuss.
“I write the gothic novels I once climbed library stacks to find — the ones with brittle spines, locked rooms, and women who keep walking toward the door anyway.”
The Ravenwood Trilogy began as a single short story published in Granta in 2021. It has since become an international bestseller, translated into nineteen languages, and the answer to a crossword clue she is told her father is very proud of.
She lives in Edinburgh with two cats named for minor saints and a library that is, by any reasonable measure, larger than her flat.
